1. Overview

SkillIssue.pub ("we", "us", "our") operates the competitive matchmaking platform at skillissue.cc. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, how we use it, and your rights regarding that data. By using the Platform, you consent to the practices described herein.

2. Data We Collect

We collect only the data necessary to operate the Platform:

Account data: Username, email address, password (stored as a secure hash), and registration date
Profile data: Profile picture, in-game username, profile colour, and banner images you choose to upload
Match and gameplay data: Match history, kills, deaths, win/loss records, rank points, and playtime
Hardware ID (HWID): A unique identifier used solely to prevent multi-accounting and protect match integrity. This is not used for tracking outside the Platform.
Session data: Authentication tokens (JWT) stored locally in your browser
Communication data: Support ticket messages and forum posts you submit
Technical data: IP address (for abuse prevention), browser type, and server-side logs retained for a maximum of 30 days

3. How We Use Your Data

Your data is used exclusively for the following purposes:

Creating and managing your account
Operating the matchmaking and ranking systems
Displaying your profile and statistics to other users (as part of the platform's social features)
Preventing fraud, abuse, and ban evasion
Responding to support requests
Sending platform-related notifications (match results, tournament updates, announcements)
Improving the Platform through aggregated, anonymised analytics

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for commercial purposes. Data may be shared only in the following circumstances:

With connected game servers: Your username and match data are shared with connected game servers for match coordination
Legal obligations: If required by law, court order, or to protect the safety of our users
Service providers: We may use trusted third-party services (e.g. hosting providers) that process data on our behalf under strict confidentiality agreements

5. Public Profile Data

The following information is publicly visible to other users of the Platform by default: your username, profile picture, rank, match statistics, and achievements. You can request profile data removal by contacting us (see Section 9).

6. Cookies and Local Storage

We use session cookies and browser local storage to maintain your login session and remember your preferences. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or tracking pixels. You can clear cookies and local storage data at any time through your browser settings, though this will log you out of your account.

7. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Match history and statistics are retained indefinitely as they form part of the competitive record. If you delete your account, your personal data (username, email, profile picture) will be permanently removed within 30 days. Aggregated, anonymised statistics may be retained.

8. Security

We implement reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data against unauthorised access, alteration, or deletion. Passwords are stored using strong cryptographic hashing. Authentication tokens are signed and expire automatically. However, no system is completely secure — we encourage you to use a strong, unique password.

9. Your Rights

You have the right to:

Access: Request a copy of the data we hold about you
Correction: Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data
Deletion: Request deletion of your account and associated personal data
Portability: Request your data in a structured, machine-readable format
Objection: Object to certain uses of your data

10. Children's Privacy

The Platform is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, please contact us and we will promptly delete the account.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of significant changes via an in-platform notification. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
